Luc Giasson has completed a Master’s Degree in Structural Analysis.  Woodwork has been his passion since childhood, finding its niche in his life in the design and realization of heavy timber structures. Luc’s designs are developed with the purest respect for this ancestral discipline.

His qualifications and experience as an engineer and building technician allow Luc to offer up a real expertise, from conception to completion.

Luc’s extensive knowledge of the properties of wood is highly appreciated by all of his clients.  His expertise extends to many facets of this broad field, including but not limited to; structural analysis, traditional joinery, metal fasteners and connections, timberframe and log homes, covered bridges, the Japanese home, joinery and tools.

 

Luc Giasson is a member of the following professional associations: Engineers and Geoscientist British Columbia, Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, Professional Engineers Ontario, Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists, Engineers Geoscientits New-Brunswick, Timberframers Guild, Timber frame engineering council and Canada Green Building Council. He is skilled in project management and he got certified as a Project Management Professional by the world renowned Project Management Institute.

 

Luc has always had a strong interest in green building practices. His curiosity led him to study many aspects of this broad field to the degree that he was awarded certification as a LEED accredited professional with specialties (Building Design and Construction) from the US Green Building Council. As a structural engineer, Luc has participated in several LEED projects.
